FC Prettygate

FC Prettygate are a Sunday league football team who play in Colchester and District Sunday League, Division One. The club has had a long history going back to 2003, and during that time, has gone through a number of name changes.

However, one things that has stayed with the club since its inception has been its nickname of ‘The Positive Parrots’, a turn of phrase which underlines the ‘no d!ckheads’ policy the club has implemented in a quest to create and open and inclusive atmosphere for everyone. With that mantra, the Positive Parrot takes centre stage on the club badge.

This re-deisgn was issued in the 2012/13 season, when the club; then named FC Drury, merged with The Prettygate, to become FC Prettygate. The traditional colours the club had worn since 2002 of blue and white were dropped in favour of adopting the orange and black of the outgoing Prettygate side, whilst the main badge and parrot of the FC Drury days were carried through, with a refreshed colour scheme.

Additional ‘swooshes’ were added to represent the merged sides. FC Drury and Prettygate first teams are represented by the halves, whilst the ‘swooshes’ represent FC Drury Reserves and Prettygate Reserves.
