Transit 60 Logo

Designing the ‘Transit 60’ logo was a unique opportunity to create the visual cornerstone for a year-long celebration of an automotive icon. Knowing this marque would be featured prominently across every touchpoint where Ford communicated about the Transit throughout its 60th anniversary year, the project required a mark that was both highly adaptable, instantly recognisable, and still lived within the Ford ecosystem. The scope was extensive, demanding a robust suite of brand assets that included localised versions for various international markets, alongside dynamic motion start and end frames tailored for various different types of video content.

To ensure the design carried genuine weight and authenticity, the creative process began with a deep dive into the vehicle’s rich heritage. Through this historical investigation, I identified a distinct, consistent geometry inherent in the rear doors of Transit models across all six decades. By extracting and refining these foundational shapes, the resulting logo was quite literally born from the fabric of the vehicles themselves. It is a design rooted in genuine automotive equity that honours 60 years of history while providing Ford with a bold, modern badge to lead their anniversary communications for the year.
